The turtle and others

See the turtle swim towards you
And her head is reaching for air
Slowly she turns, paddling towards the shore
Awaiting her, are eggs laid long ago in the sand

The rabbit runs swiftly from the fox
Blending in with the winter grass
Nestling against the tree bark
To avoid the natural smell of nature

The robin flies towards the nest
Built last spring
Torn to shreds by the winter winds
And squirrels
Knowing the start is a continuation
Of life
Ready to begin

I look at live and picture
The reflection of its meaning
In the mirror
Seeing reality, where others
Believe, because it is easier
To exist, to accept
Mediocrity
As the norm
